John Oakes is the founder of OR Books. Prior to OR, Oakes co-founded the publishing company Four Walls Eight Windows. When his company was purchased by the Avalon Publishing Group, he became publisher of Thunder’s Mouth Press, co-publisher of Nation Books, and vice president of Avalon. Oakes serves on the board of PEN America and is a member of the New York Public Library's Library Council. He has written for the Associated Press, the International Herald Tribune, and the Review of Contemporary Fiction, and is a graduate of Princeton.
Mark Huang is a co-founder of Novus Energy Partners, a cross-Atlantic cleantech venture capital fund. Prior to Novus, Mark was a Senior Vice-President at GE Energy Financial Services, primarily focused on venture investments in the clean energy and transportation sectors. Mark also worked with GE business development teams in alternative energy and hybrid electric transportation. Mark holds a BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute and an MBA and a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University.
