Alfanar has supported the Information Technology Support Centre right from its inception, believing in the ideas of a young organisation committed to free access to information on issues of public interest, sorted using a rights-based index. The organisation set up a web-based archive that facilitates access to information on issues of public interest, particularly focusing on human rights for the benefit of Egyptian civil society organisations. The centre collects, sorts, analyses, and makes available data on general issues through their website www.id3m.com. Furthermore, it provides client tailored research, to cater to the research and information needs and requirements of wider client base. This project is truly innovative in the Egyptian, and indeed the Arab, context. It can empower millions through the power of information.
