Psychological Support and Community Outreach Programme to Combat Domestic Violence (2011-Ongoing)

The Shomoo Association for Sustainable Development with Alfanar’s support, is developing a multi-faceted project to combat domestic violence against women in Minia. The project includes: setting up a listening centre for victims of domestic violence in Minia City; training village committees in 6 villages on how to identify and refer cases to the centre; and training village literacy class teachers on how to incorporate violence-related issues in their curriculum and introduce activities in children’s clubs that promote gender equality.
